Overview: This piece was completed in July of 2025. I used a professional canvas and acrylic paints to create this piece.

                                         

Process: This painting was really fun to create and is absolutely loaded with layers of paint. I absolutely love to use the colors black and white as well as grey. In this case the colors proved important to communicating the meaning of the piece. I used brushes, palette knives, and a roller to create this piece. I have many different methods I use to apply paint with these tools, some experimental and others practiced. This piece took me about two months to complete as it took many different twists and turns until I found the rhythm and direction I was looking for. I finished the piece off with two layers of protective varnish to ensure it's longevity. This piece is currently unframed and comes with a wire set up to hang.

Meaning: This piece speaks directly to the racism that I believe is still alive and well in our society today. Many people I know believe there is a grey area that surrounds this topic. To me, there is no grey area, do not be a racist. My soul yearns for us as a society, as a world, to rid ourselves of the plague of racism. To recognize that it is still alive and well and to condemn it in any form it takes, even if that form or system helps you financially.

Like all of my other pieces, this one is all heart, it's everything I've got and it's a privilege to share it with you. While admittedly the importance of my views/thoughts/opinions are absolutely insignificant in relation to the world, I have chosen to share my feelings through this piece of art.
